    Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to):
    Maintenance and operation of a variety of field machining equipment, including services such as pipe beveling and cutting, line boring, flange facing, among other creative applications.

    Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing; completing preventive maintenance such as, disassembly, inspection, reassembly, function test, final inspection, and proper packaging.

    Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator/customer complaints; conducting inspections; repairing equipment failures; repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing cosmetic damage.

    Operates portable machining equipment in various locations such as Power Plants, Paper Mills, Ship Yards, Manufacturing Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries, Steel Mills, Mines, Wind Farms, and on Heavy Equipment.

    Constant client communication. You will be your client’s main point of contact onsite. This communication includes job start introductions, managing timeline expectations throughout a job, and relaying feedback to the Mactech team.

  • Assembly Technician – Red Wing, MN
  • The Assembly Technician candidate must have a high level of mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities include supporting new product development and production assembly. This includes assisting with repairs and function testing of rental equipment. The Assembly Technician will work with our manufacturing and field service teams performing assembly, maintenance, testing, and calibration of our proprietary products.

    Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to):
    • Perform assembly of new product including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
    • Perform QC inspections and function tests on new machine assemblies, rental equipment, and repair of contract equipment identifying hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, ensuring safe and proper operation.
    • Assists with the training of other employees as requested.

    Preferred Skills:
    • Be proficient in the use of all equipment, tools, and techniques that are used in a Mechanical/Electrical workshop.
    • Competent in the use of testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, etc.
    • Basic understanding of electrical control panel assemblies.
    • Experience with low voltage wiring (12v & 24v) including terminal blocks, fusing, circuit breakers, disconnects, relays, soldering, analog and digital multi-conductor wiring, etc.
    • Good understanding of 120-480VAC single and three phase electrical connections.
    • Experience with hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, plumbing, along with system requirements related to flow and pressure.
    • Able to read and understand Hydraulic and Electric Schematics.
    • Able to read and understand Technical Drawings.
    • Competent with personal computers using windows, email, and job specifications with time entry.
    • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team player, with the ability to work under pressure and in a pro-active manner.
