    Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to):
    Maintenance and operation of a variety of field machining equipment, including services such as pipe beveling and cutting, line boring, flange facing, among other creative applications.

    Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing; completing preventive maintenance such as, disassembly, inspection, reassembly, function test, final inspection, and proper packaging.

    Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator/customer complaints; conducting inspections; repairing equipment failures; repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing cosmetic damage.

    Operates portable machining equipment in various locations such as Power Plants, Paper Mills, Ship Yards, Manufacturing Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries, Steel Mills, Mines, Wind Farms, and on Heavy Equipment.

    Constant client communication. You will be your client’s main point of contact onsite. This communication includes job start introductions, managing timeline expectations throughout a job, and relaying feedback to the Mactech team.

  • Machine Operator, 2nd Shift – Red Wing, MN
  • The Machine Operator ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.

    Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to):
    • Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
    • Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
    • Selects, places, and secures tools.
    • Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
    • Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.
    • Observes each machine to verify quality performance.
    • Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
    • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
    • Sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Place safety and quality at the forefront.
    • Ability to work with other team members, highly flexible, “Get it Done” attitude.
    • Time management skills, the ability to schedule and prioritize tasks unsupervised.
    • Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
    • Be proficient in the use of all equipment, tools, and techniques that are used in a Mechanical/Electrical workshop.
    • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team player, with the ability to work under pressure and in a pro-active manner.

    Physical Demands:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
    • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
    • The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier.
