How do you eat an old bridge?

One reinforced concrete pile at a time.

That’s exactly what Mactech did when we were called in to cut 106 round concrete bridge piles just above the mud line. It wasn’t a snack-sized job, but our 30-inch diamond wire saw chewed right through it… no complaints, no backtalk.

Precision Where It Counts

This wasn’t your average concrete removal. These were thick, round piles… reinforced and weathered… and they needed to be cut cleanly and consistently just above the mud line.

Our 30-inch diamond wire saw delivered the precision and speed required to keep the project on schedule and make way for the new bridge installation without delays.

No Sparks, No Problem

Unlike traditional cutting methods that can be noisy, spark-heavy, and frankly kind of messy, diamond wire sawing is clean, and efficient… ideal for sensitive environments and underwater or near-water work.

Efficiency in the Field

With 106 piles to get through, downtime wasn’t an option. Our saw was built for endurance, and our field team kept things moving smoothly from pile one to pile 106. Cut, reset, repeat… until the job was done and the bridge could move into its next phase.

Eat the Elephant

At Mactech, we don’t shy away from the big jobs. Whether it’s flanges or bridge piles, we’ve got the tools (and the team) to break it down… one clean cut at a time.
